We were surprised to find that we would be in Poland on a national holiday – Armed Forces Day. This is to in memory of the Polish uprising against the Communists in 1920. The Polish army won the Battle of Warsaw on this date. It is commemorated with a military parade and many other activities, including traditional music and dance in the town square.
We missed many of the activities due to being on a tour for much of the day, but were able to enjoy some of the dancing and music. It was fabulous!
