Bring the overly cautious types where our health is concerned, we decided to confer with the travel nurse through our health care system.  Nothing too exciting here – she recommended vaccinations against Hepatitis A and typhoid.  She also prescribed antibiotics (just in case), as well as giving us a list of medications we should take with us.  She suggested Bismuth subsalicylate tablets (Pepto Bismol) and Loperamide (Imodium AD), as well as bringing along a good insect repellant and sunscreen.  We definitely are following her suggestions.  We are bringing a variety of other OTC medications with us as well; you never know when you are going to get sick, and it is nice to have your preferred meds handy rather than having to go search for them (whether on board or ashore).
